Before we initially planned to create our own version of elements of Jennifer's Body & 10 Things I Hate About You merged together, we had a wide selection of teen movies were inspired by.These movies vary from:
- Jennifer's Body
- 10 Things I Hate ABout You
- Cyberbully
- The Breakfast Club
- Mean Girls
- She's The Man
- She's All That
Most teen movies are pretty similar, however we wanted to go for something slightly different. Although we didn't want in to drift away from the teen movie genre. So we've decided to add some very obvious cliches which we have included in our location, costumes, dialogue, plot etc.
As a group we do like a bit of horror and comedy, I think that is why the idea Jennifer's Body was a definate yes. The only issue we really had was, who was going to play who. Our group aren't too confident and can be camera shy. However, we didn't want to go through the hassel of asking people to give up their time to help us with our work. (Most people would expect us to buy them lunch or snacks in return for starring in our opening sequence, but I don't think any of us want to buy them anything :]) It became apparent that it would be easier for us to star in it, in addition no one would really be able to understand our ideas and get them across like we do. Plus, it would be a much quicker process. We chose costumes that weren't too difficult to get access off, and weren't too difficult to convey our characters. The majority of costumes ideas we have gone with are clothes from our own wardrobe. We may alter some of our costumes with fake blood and a rips, but it won't be clothes that we consider hugely valuble.
I think the decision take on these roles is good because they are different to what we are used to. I know for a fact Kris isn't usually a teenage demon and I would like to consider myself, not geeky and I don't think Tarun usually gets stalked by teenage demons.
