Editing Day 3

Before my lesson started today I went in at lunch time to carry on editing our film oepning as we only have two more days till the deadline. I started off with improving the video with the feedback from Rebecca, I added more transitions, cut out more bits from the film and also began placing some of the titles. As I added the music, Kris and Shannon found the previous lesson, I realised that the soundtrack being used for Kris's scene was only 40 seconds long and this was a huge problem as her scene was about 1 minute and 20 seconds long. As workshop finished and lesson started the girls came in and I told them the problem and they began looking for another soundtrack. Next, I realised near the end of our film we didn't have a scene of Kris coming into college and I told the girls and who went out to film this short clip. I carried on making minor adjustments such as making match cuts seem more subtle and also adding transitions to the music we already had. I asked Marisa for quick feedback and she said it was good overall but we needed overlapping foley sound. I found a few sound effects and added them to our video drive. When the girls came back with the new footage I imported it into final cut pro and saved it.

Now all that's left to do is add all the titles, ident, music for one remaining scene and Kris's 10 second scene at the end! Editing is going really well as we have two days left and a little bit amount of stuff to do.
